PTR-TOF Training at Its Best – “hands-on” PTR-MS 2019 Events Review

Close to 50 users gathered in Innsbruck for the 2019 PTR-TOF training

We reached out to the steadily growing base of IONICON instrument users in fall 2018, announcing the 2019 “hands-on” PTR-MS training course and the 3rd IONICON User-Day.

The response was overwhelming and after receiving close to 50 applications, we had to close the registration process in order to make sure all our international guests could benefit from the strictly limited hands-on workshop availability. In the meantime, IONICON experts spent countless hours preparing for the training workshops to be conducted in small groups at the beginning of February 2019, in Innsbruck – hometown of PTR-MS.

hands-on PTR-MS 2017 for IMPACT ESR students

A week of training and experts’ lectures at “the home of PTR-MS”

IMPACT “hands-on” PTR-MS training

Our team prepared intensively for a week of training that we proudly hosted at IONICON a couple of days ago. We conceived lectures and workshops, prepared documentation and polished up our PTR-TOFMS instruments for Early-Stage-Researchers (ESRs) from the Horizon 2020 ITN project “IMPACT”. The ESRs were visiting us for an intensive training on PTR-MS, since it is one of the leading SCIMS (soft chemical-ionisation mass-spectrometry) technologies and we are the market leader in this field.

hands-on PTR-MS 2016 and the 2nd IONICON User-Day – a review

Attendance at an all-time high for the two major PTR-MS community events

hands-on-PTR-MS_logo2016In the second week of February 2016, the comprehensive PTR-MS learning & training event “hands-on PTR-MS” attracted nearly 50 participants from all over the world. We were unable to accept all applications due to our strict policy for small training group size in the workshops, our customers could choose from. Nevertheless, we are glad that we could attract and accommodate a record-breaking number of attendees to our PTR-MS events 2016.

Users at all levels, from beginners to experts, working at different PTR-MS instruments gathered at the “home of PTR-MS”, IONICON’s hometown Innsbruck, Austria for an intensive two-days seminar. A combination of lectures and “hands-on” program was provided where an interaction with the IONICON team and among PTR-MS users was facilitated, covering various highly relevant topics. (more…)

hands-on PTR-MS 2011 – a huge success

The 5th hands-on PTR-MS, the IONICON PTR-MS training course, took place this week in Innsbruck, Austria

The anniversary edition of hands-on PTR-MS attracted 36 participants from all over the world and an exciting program awaited the PTR-MS users from 23 to 26 January.

Since the first IONICON PTR-MS training seminar was held in 2003 we were able to attract more and more attendees and provide a very attractive program adapted to the needs of our customers. This year every single participant had the opportunity to pick among a selection of proposed workshops and by this was able to design an individual training schedule.

On Monday everybody was invited to refresh their background knowledge on the principles of PTR-MS in a  lecture covering vacuum technology, ion chemistry and analytical characterization of PTR-QMS and PTR-TOFMS, given by Armin Wisthaler from the university of Innsbruck. At the evening of the same day we invited to a social evening event at a very special location in order to celebrate the 5th edition of hands-on PTR-MS. This was an excellent opportunity for exchanging experiences, connect and to network in a relaxed atmosphere.
