The 8th International PTR-MS Conference, Innsbruck, Austria – a review

Must-attend science forum attracted over 100 conferees from 18 nations

At the beginning of February 2019, the International PTR-MS Conference was held for the 8th time. Ever since the first International PTR-MS Conference in 2003, organized by the Institute of Ion Physics of the University of Innsbruck and sponsored by IONICON, the event became a fixed point in the scientific agenda of many of our international peers.

Talks at the 8th International PTR-MS Conference took place in a historic venue of the University of Innsbruck

Since then the conference evolved, attracting more and more participants filling larger venues. If at the very beginning technology enthusiasts and early-adopters were gathering to exchange and network on their experiences with the first IONICON Quadrupole-PTR-MS instruments, the meeting soon became the PTR-MS event for all IONICON instrument users. The program comprised a selection of parallel sessions covering the very broad field of applications that modern PTR-TOF instruments are successfully used in. (more…)

PTR-TOF Training at Its Best – “hands-on” PTR-MS 2019 Events Review

Close to 50 users gathered in Innsbruck for the 2019 PTR-TOF training

We reached out to the steadily growing base of IONICON instrument users in fall 2018, announcing the 2019 “hands-on” PTR-MS training course and the 3rd IONICON User-Day.

The response was overwhelming and after receiving close to 50 applications, we had to close the registration process in order to make sure all our international guests could benefit from the strictly limited hands-on workshop availability. In the meantime, IONICON experts spent countless hours preparing for the training workshops to be conducted in small groups at the beginning of February 2019, in Innsbruck – hometown of PTR-MS.

IONICON PTR-TOF 6000 X2 with CHARON – and LABORPRAXIS application award trophy

analytica 2018 held yet another very positive surprise for us. On Tuesday, in the evening of the first bustling show day, we were invited for an award ceremony of the LABORPRAXIS application awards 2018. We knew that we were shortlisted together with our colleagues from Pfeiffer Vacuum and Thermo Fisher Scientific for the category of water- and environmental analytics, but that we would be leaving the party as winner we would’t have ever dreamed of.  (more…)

An exciting program around IONICON’s PTR-TOFMS technology

Lukas Märk and Todd Rogers explaining the unique benefits of PTR-MS

Pittcon 2017 attracted thousands of scientists and industry decision makers who discovered the latest trends in laboratory instruments, one of which being the new PTR-TOF 4000.

We showcased our new real-time trace VOC analyzer at our booth and attracted the crowds. Our team was supported by our US distributor Trace VOC.

“The Air We Breathe In & Out at Pittcon”, presented by Jens Herbig

We also hosted a Pittcon expo live demo that was filled to the very last seat available. At “The Air We Breathe In & Out at Pittcon” attendees could get their breath analyzed in real-time or have a look at the VOC composition in the expo hall. They also learned about air composition and VOCs in general as well as how to analyze them. (more…)
