AMC-Monitor T-1000: all-in-one analyzer for the semiconductor industry

Real-time VOC monitoring in FOUP, fab and the clean-room environment

Airborne Molecular Contamination (AMC) is more and more taking center stage in today’s semiconductor manufacturing processes. In the past the focus was on filtering particles from the ambient air in the clean-room to reduce their negative impact on production yield. Using  expensive air filtration equipment and transport containers for wafers, FOUPs – short for Front Opening Unified Pod, this problem is largely under control. While particles are still important, the contamination concern has shifted towards low-concentrated volatile molecules. These trace gases can be undesirable for semiconductor manufacturing processes and are therefore defined as airborne molecular contamination (AMC).

To monitor AMC directly at the photolithography tool-level and in the transport and storage environment, real-time analyzers with low online detection limits and versatile usage scenarios are needed.

 

To address current and future challenges within and around fabrication plants, we have developed the modular and flexible monitoring platform AMC-Monitor T-1000.

IONICON innovations showcased at the 65th annual ASMS meeting 2017

Real-time analysis of aerosols with CHARON PTR-TOFMS and modular X2 technologies for PTR-TOF performance enhancement

At the beginning of June it’ll be time to gather for the 65th annual ASMS conference on mass spectrometry and allied topics. IONICON R&D scientists will be there to present our most recent innovations and allow sneak-peeks on upcoming products.

Among the most important technologies is our modular “ION-BOOSTER” ion funnel in combination with our new hexapole ION-GUIDE. This “X2” set-up yields an incredible performance and allows the user to boost the IONICON PTR-TOF’s performance with push-button simplicity. Based on these achievements, the new high-resolution PTR-TOF 6000 X2 has just recently been launched as our new flagship PTR-TOF instrument for ultimate performance.

We proudly present our new premium PTR-TOF trace VOC analyzer. The PTR-TOF 6000 X2 outperforms all preceding systems and true to our mission as market leaders, it features utmost resolution, sensitivity and lowest real-time detection limit, in a robust, transportable platform that is smaller, lighter and even more affordable than our former flagship product. This results in an impressing mass resolution of over 6000 m/Δm and a sensitivity more than 1000 cps/ppbv with a low detection limit of below 1 pptv.

Pittcon week 2017: Real-Time Air Analysis with PTR-MS

Pittcon 2017 attracted thousands of scientists and industry decision makers who discovered the latest trends in laboratory instruments, one of which being the new PTR-TOF 4000.

We showcased our new real-time trace VOC analyzer at our booth and attracted the crowds. Our team was supported by our US distributor Trace VOC.

We also hosted a Pittcon expo live demo that was filled to the very last seat available. At “The Air We Breathe In & Out at Pittcon” attendees could get their breath analyzed in real-time or have a look at the VOC composition in the expo hall. Real-time PTR-MS meets autosampler – high throughput VOC analysis

The real-time capability of a PTR-MS gas analyzer is typically utilized to continuously monitor trace VOC concentrations – but not only. Some users appreciate the enormous speed of a PTR-MS to rapidly analyze discrete samples in seconds, where a manual sample provision can be the bottleneck.

IONICON Autosampler for PTR-MS

This has become greatly facilitated with the new IONICON autosampler for PTR-MS. Analyzing hundreds of sample vials in an automated manner not only provides high data quality but also enables an ultra-high throughput, drastically reducing processing cost for larger batches of samples.
