Visit our booth No. 9 this week and poster presentations on Tuesday 18 September!
Every three years, the International Mass Spectrometry Conference (IMSC) attracts many scientists from all over the planet. This year the IMSC in its 19th edition takes place in Kyoto, Japan, the first time ever out of Europe which is an excellent opportunity to visit Japan with all its beauty and not less than 17 UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Sites located in Kyoto.
IONICON and SHORELINE, our distribution partner for Japan present innovations to you at our booth No. 9 and in Tuesday’s poster session (event hall):
We are looking forward to see you soon!

IONICON hands-on PTR-MS 2013
Join us for the comprehensive biennial IONICON PTR-MS training seminar taking place in connection to the 6th International PTR-MS Conference!
Wednesday (check-in) 30 January -
Saturday (check-out/transfer to conference venue) 2 February 2013.
Location: Alphotel Innsbruck, Austria
Training schedule of hands-on PTR-MS 2013:
31 January and 1 February
In the morning of both training days short theoretical refresher lectures by a selected IONICON specialist will be held.
Afterwards small groups will get training on different PTR-MS instruments covering maintenance issues, calibration, software and analytical topics.
You will be able to pick your favorite topics and create your own workshop schedule. The number of people per group headed by our experts is strictly limited in order for you to acquire in-depths knowledge of every topic and interact with your trainers.
Sign-up now and save! (early-bird rate until 30 September 2012)
Don’t miss this excellent opportunity to meet colleagues from all over the world, get to know the IONICON team and experience an exciting two-days program full of expert advise in a relaxed atmosphere.
Save the dates and get prepared for the 6th International PTR-MS Conference and IONICON “hands-on PTR-MS” training seminar
The International PTR-MS Conference will take place for the 6th time aiming to continue the success story of this event series. The conference is organized by the Institute of Ion Physics and Applied Physics of the University of Innsbruck and sponsored by IONICON and IONIMED. In connection to the 6th International PTR-MS Conference, the IONICON “hands-on PTR-MS” training seminar and workshop will be held, giving all participants the opportunity to combine a PTR-MS training with academic networking and new insights from research.
I am glad to announce that the preliminary dates for the PTR-MS Conference 2011 and hands-on PTR-MS 2011 are now set.
Please add these dates to your agenda:
hands-on PTR-MS: 30 January – 2 February 2013

At Pittcon® 2012 we were able to increase attendance at our booth and posters. Now we are looking forward to Pittcon 2013 in Philadelphia!
From March 11 to 15 Orlando, FL was once again hosting Pittcon with its more than 15,000 attendees populating Orlando’s International Drive, Orange County Convention Center and of course the show floor where we had our IONICON booth.
We participated in the Conference with numerous scientific contributions such as posters, but also in networking sessions highlighting the scientific character of Pittcon Conference and Exposition. This year we increased our booth space in order to more conveniently demonstrate PTR-MS to interested attendees (e.g. performing live breath-testing or analysis of ambient air). Moreover a dedicated meeting area was provided for comfortably discussing advantages of our real-time direct injection mass spectrometry systems in specific application areas.
We support young researchers at two GRCs in 2012
The Gordon Research Conferences provide an international forum for the presentation and discussion of frontier research in the biological, chemical, and physical sciences, and their related technologies.
Two GRCs closely related to our own scientific research and PTR-MS are now supported by IONICON in order to give young researchers the opportunity to present their work to the scientific community.
These days the GRC for Plant Volatiles takes place in Ventura, CA, January 29 – February 3, 2012 and has as topics: Ecology, Biosynthesis, Regulation and Animal Perception of Floral and Vegetative Volatiles, Plus their Roles in Human Flavor and Agriculture.
IONICON science manager, Dr. Philipp Sulzer will co-chair the session A3 Detection of hazardous Material and give a lecture.
Terrorism, organized crime and sabotage, but also natural disasters and technological accidents can cause serious damage and disruption with long-lasting consequences for economies and the quality of life.
The 6th Future Security, Security Research Conference will take place 5. -7. September 2011 in Berlin, Germany and has the aim to bring together the decision makers in politics, industry and finance with scientists working on leading edge and innovative concepts, sensors or systems for civil security.
Philipp Sulzer will chair the session Detection of Hazardous Material on Tuesday September 6 from 9:00 to 10:20 and give a lecture with the title: Detection and Identification of illicit and Hazardous Substances with Proton-Transfer-Reaction Mass Spectrometry (PTR-MS).

Meet us at the ASMS conference June 5-9, booth # 138 and see what’s new at IONICON
The 59th ASMS Conference on Mass Spectrometry and Allied Topics will take place June 5 – 9, 2011 in Denver, CO.
The American Society for Mass Spectrometry expects more than 6,500 scientists to attend their annual conference and we’re again part of this major mass spectrometry event.
This is going to be a hot PTR-MS summer with product launches and lots of new developments at IONICON. Usually readers of our blog will be first to know but this is going to be an exception… I suggest you come by our booth, have a chat with me and I promise to give you some news and updates before I tell them to anybody else…
Visit us at booth # 138 and have a look at our posters:
