A new generation of ultra-sensitive PTR-MS online mass spectrometers for VOC analysis now complements the IONICON PTR-QMS series

We  present the new PTR-QMS-500 series to the analytical and laboratory market: highest performance and lowest detection limits (< 1 pptv) for VOCs detection and monitoring based on Proton Transfer Reaction – Mass Spectrometry. The PTR-QMS 500 series is the 4^th generation of PTR-MS systems developed and commercialized by IONICON Analytik GmbH, Innsbruck Austria.

The High-Sensitivity PTR-QMS 500 and its sister instrument, the PTR-QMS 500 are the successors of the world’s bestselling PTR-QMS instrument series, the IONICON High-Sensitivity PTR-MS and Standard PTR-MS. This is the new flagship quadrupole-based PTR-MS series where created a new generation of instruments providing the highest sensitivity available in the PTR-MS market but also incorporating several new features and improvements we developed in response to the needs and feedback of our customers.

IONICON N.A.S.E. is a heated device for the collection of nosespace air and direct introduction into the inlet of a PTR-MS system.

We listened to the feedback from our customers and developed a device for further improving our response time optimized heated PEEK inlet system, especially for PTR-MS users in food, flavor & fragrance science.

Substances of interest such as e.g. Vanillin are often very “sticky” and condensate on cold spots of an inlet system. Therefore we have engineered a solution overcome this issue.

IONICON launches the new PTR-QMS 300 replacing the successful Compact PTR-MS

The Compact PTR-MS was presented to the market in 2003 as a very innovative, small and lightweight PTR-MS entry-level model for research or process monitoring applications where a remarkable detection limit of below 1 ppbv was reached with this lean set-up.

The Compact PTR-MS was immediately accepted as an ideal instrument for customers who are in need of routine analysis provided by a benchtop PTR-MS with a very moderate price tag.

Over the last couple of years we collected your feedback and continuously improved our technology and instruments.

The new PTR-QMS 300 is the outcome of focused R&D efforts and cooperation with our customers and institutional partners.  Now we can present a completely revised instrument design to you and these are the most outstanding features:
